Glenn Beck

So, our country is in trouble. Get educated. Fight Socialism. It has been proven in Russia, N Korea, China, etc., to fail. Contact your leaders and let them know you like living in a free country. There's something wonderful about being given the opportunity to fail and feel pain. That's akin to Heavenly Father's plan.

Glen Beck is about the only one I trust on the news these days. His only agenda seems to be bringing back the virtues and saving the country. Everyone else has a vested interest somewhere.

Glenbeck.com will give you the times for his radio station and TV show.

The radio show is three hours our time from 3-6 pm. His TV show is 5pm and 1 am eastern. (So how we watch it at midnight is beyond me.)

Attitude lesson from RS

This was a wonderful Relief Society lesson on how to deal with life.

The sister teaching came up with this recipe for taking a look at our life attitude.

Are
The
Things
I
Think
Uplifting or
Discouraging & Depressing or
Effecting my Eternal progression?

She also spoke about praying previous to action. That way we are inspired through the process instead of starting the "wrong" way and asking for Heavenly Father to bail us out.

I really like the attitude sayings, except I want to influence my thoughts in a more positive way. Negative Thinking to try and get a positive output really puts a cloud over my spirit. So, here's my alteration:

Are
The
Things
I
Think
Uplifting
Delightful &
Effecting my Eternal progression for the best?

It just feels better.

Books I'm reading...

It's hard to read books that you don't agree with. I had to stop reading one recently because it made my blood boil - it's hard to sleep when you're frustrated - and I read before I sleep. (Lovely sentence structure right? Chuckle.)

I read ThetaHealing, which was an awesome book. I recommend reading it with the Doctrine and Covenents (attached to the Book of Mormon).

I just read the original Peter Pan...grotesque.

Joseph Smith History by his Mother Lucy Mack Smith was very interesting as well. She has an interesting perspective on Joseph's life. Somewhat biased, but what mother isn't?

Then I read Hercules, though I'd have to check the author. It makes me realize how many of our beliefs are Greece based.

I am currently reading the journals and writings of Joseph Smith, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Communist Manifesto. The last one is difficult to digest, but I feel that the current climate of the US directs me to become more articulate about the ideals that I oppose.

Brian's stuffed chicken recipe is now on the new blog.

If you have other amazing recipes that are healthy or tasty that we can make into a soy-free delectable treat please let me know. I love to try recipes and then post them.
