the story of the animals

I have always wanted to learn to carve. Even more specific...I wanted to carve a nativity. I've tried chisling away into different pieces of wood in an unsuccessful manner.

This time I started from a different angle. I had already planned on revamping the animals in a Noah's Ark that Kimberly gave me. I decided that I would use the rough animal forms to shape what I wanted them to.

Surprisingly the donkey turned out pretty well. the sheep from a rabbit was more difficult, but it's fair. I wish it could have a longer snout; but it will have to work.

I'll have to post pictures as they come up!

  2. I can't believe it; I didn't fully read your blog post. Well, I thought I did, but I missed one itty bitty little fact; that you carved from the Noah's ark animals I gave you. I didn't even remember having given those to you. Awesome that you turned them into something pretty. They were simple and not so beautiful.
