Christmas light

I'm sitting in my living room with five Christmas trees. In the hall is the sixth, and there are several nativities and the music is playing. The ornaments sparkle with the lights around them.

President Uchtdorf's Chritmas devotional talk on lights was so true. We are drawn t the light and when the lights are on we feel safe.

christ is the light and the life. We truly must rely on Him or we choose darkness.

Our Father in Heaven and Christ do not forgive us over and over. They are always forgiving. The atonement covers any transgression we will ever do.

That puts the responsibility in our hands to forsake the things that drag us away from their light. Repentance is a willingness to give away the things that bring us pleasure but not joy. When we release our grasp we are turning to the Father and taking a step closer to his side. When people ask why they should give up drinking when the Savior himself made wine for a wedding.

It may be easier to realize that they may have what they want.

You have to choose to give away a sin. It become a sins when the Son gives a commandment and you choose to disobey that commandment. At one time it was a sin to give the priesthood to someone because of the colof of his skin...but really because it was a commandment...not because the man of color was not worthy. He has reasons for each of His commandments and we will be happier if we follow with our hearts.

So, we can choose pleasures or happiness, eternal life, forever families, joy, worlds without end, and peace of mind.

Sure makes it look easy when you see it that way. Of course it's not. But in leaving your comforts, sacrificing your time, spirit, and body you have discovered the true joy that comes from giving up comforts for others.

Lose yourself in service and you find your true self; the one your Father in Heaven knows.
